However, this class is being taught as the Lead Abatement Contractor class and is a 40-hour training course and satisfies the requirements for the Lead Abatement Worker course.

The class focuses on identification of safe work practices and job specifications for controlling hazards of lead paint, dust, and soil. Table top exercises are used to teach how to choose abatement methods that are most cost-effective. Trainees participate in hands-on demonstrations of abatement techniques, personal protective equipment, and environmental testing methods.
